Details:
Dive into the world of abstract fiber art in this immersive, hands-on workshop. You’ll discover the versatility of punch needle, a traditional North American craft that grew out of 19th-century rug hooking, and learn how it can be used in fresh, contemporary ways.

You’ll experiment with yarn, fabric, beads, punch needles, and embroidery needles to create rich textures and patterns on indigo-dyed monk's cloth. Guided by Tyler, you’ll explore techniques that encourage play, intuition, and personal expression.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have designed a one-of-a-kind piece of art that reflects your own style and creative vision.

* No prior experience required. However, we will not cover in-depth traditional punch needle techniques in this workshop. I like the phrase, "you need to know the rules to break the rules." I encourage participants to take my Punch Needle 101 course if you want to advance in abstract techniques. Having a foundation of the traditional techniques will greatly benefit your practice.
