Quilt Square Workshop: SEPT 25
Punch Needle Online Workshop
Thursday, September 25th, 6-9 PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME (3 hours)
**DEADLINE TO REGISTER: MONDAY, SEPT. 15 (to allow for shipping of class materials). SHIPPING IN USA ONLY. Workshop is limited to 20 participants.
This workshop is beginner-friendly but offers new techniques for those who have taken a workshop with me in the past. We will learn how to use four different-sized stitches with the Lavor Adjustable Punch Needle, as well as sculpting.
Learn a distinctly North American fiber craft, take part in some self-care (repetitively stabbing fabric really helps with the built-up stress!!), and connect with others to share about ways we can show up and support our community right now.
$10 OF EVERY TICKET WILL BE DONATED to the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and SMYAL (supports LGBTQ+ youth in the DC metro area and beyond).
Included in this workshop:
- Three hours of instruction, virtual punch needle support, and community building
- 8" x 8" stretched frame with pattern drawn on monk's cloth
- Four colors of yarn to complete the quilt square pattern
- Digital How-to-Guide for reference in completing the project
- Shipping of your kit
Add-ons:
- Lavor (Fine 4mm) Adjustable Punch Needle
*It is recommended for this pattern that you have a size FINE punch needle. If you've purchased a kit or needle from me, you should already have the Lavor Fine. Please message me if you have a needle but do not know the size.
Not included:
- Scissors
- You will need to have access to the internet and Google Meet to participate in this workshop.
Why a quilt square?
Quilting has long been an art form that brings community together to create something beautiful. Each stitch tells a story and holds memories and traditions of those who made it.
COMMUNITY IS RESISTANCE!
